I have two BJ phones one with the new 'offical' rom and one with a recent cooking of the same. I will try it later, one of the phones is at the Mall

There have been reports of some inconsistent behavior with the MMS in the new ROM. I have experienced delayed receiving by the 'official' rom, but I used the cooked one so it could also be delayed sending by it. Either way, there have been others reporting issues. There could be settings at Customer Services end that effect the service features, so you might want to call CS, I have had issues with MMS in the past with the Blackjack that required their involvement. If its not something everyone is experiencing, then it maybe account settings.

Also, as you may know, there is a recieving setting that you check or uncheck "Report Allowed'. If that is not checked or if no feature on the phone getting the MMS, you may not get the report back. Also, some MMS has a reject unknown sender feature, maybe MMS is not getting thru. Finally, I have seen MMS not get through to other service provider phones, so naturally, no report it was recieved would come back. In my case I am having MMS sent to my BJ with the official ROM delayed for 45 mins to 3 hours, so again the report of reciept would not be sent till after delivery.

It seems there is some problem for some of us, but until more report what they are finding, its not clear where the issue lies.

Again, I will check the functioning of your issue on my two BJ's later tonight and report back my findings before midnight, as my cooked BJ has shown no delay in reciept, nor any delay in the official sending, so I should get an answer.

Thanks Kevad007 for checking this out. I have also seen the delay as I send messeges between mine and my wifes bj. I think I will call CS, who knows maybe they have to adjust the settings on their side being that it has a different phone id now? I did notice on XDA someone actually has a fix for this isue on WM6 but it was for a PPC phone

So far I am not getting any reports of receipt on either phone. Last night late I tried reformatting my stock WM6 UCHA1 ROM following Step 7 on the Samsung Upgrade instructions, but no change. My stock UCHA1 phone still is having problems receiving MMS messages consistently, so my results may be due to my account not set up right, will try CS today and see if MMS is not provisioned right at their end. You might PM Da_G again here or over there (I saw you exchanged comments) and see if he could incorporate that XDA fix into his cookins. While its made for PPC phone, maybe he can tweak it.

Ya, I've noticed some of my text messages not being received consistantly also. I did call CS to inquire about the delivery report and they were like huh, WM6 UCHA1?? So they transfered me to samsungs technical department and they said it is a known isue with WM6 and that if I send my phone to them they will re-flash it w/ WM6 and that should do it

I think I will look up DA_G and see if he can come up w/ something like a cab or maybe bake it into one of his roms. I did notice after sending a mms when you open it (on the other phone) the BJ does light up like it's trying to receive it.

One thing I have noted is that the Da_G cooked UCHA1 phone so far is apparently getting receipt of all MMS within a matter of seconds sent by the other BJ or CC'd to itself. That phone has a different unlimited plan, its a 30 dollar plan with unlimited data and a large number of included MMS messages. The one that is recieving inconsistenly on a stock ROM has the 40 dollar PDA Connect plan, but no grace on MMS.

Finally got around to installing the Samsung update. All I can say is, meh. Thanks to Da_G, that is.

Hopefully we'll soon get a bug free version of the new cooked ROM soon.

The average delay for text messages is 2 seconds. I don't mess with message receipts unless the person is ignoring me.

crap I think something went wrong in the flashing process.

I don't think phase 3 ever happened. looking at the rom update app it says "waiting for a next image..."

the phone says pass for 1 and 2, for 3 it says "[START]" and at the bottom of the screen says "Time" and then 3 digit fast scrolling numbers .. o_O

I ran into the same. I searched, here and Google. I found many posts on ATT's forum on the subject. It's not new, many people have run into this. Tried a few things, solved the problem. Your phone is not bricked.

So after jumping up to WM6 on the BJ the address book ssysncs with the BMW but having problems staying connected during a phone call.

Did the BT stack issue get resolved with the update? any suggestions on how to open up the BT, or correct this problem?

This is amazing. I can't wait. WM6.1 has built in copy/paste options plus an evolved card wheel. The current card wheel is kinda annoying, because you don't have a dedicated contacts button. Plus the Green call button's functions change depending on what card you're on (calls favorite contact, calls VM, etc).

I hope the new Card Wheel is different or at least easier to use. What would be perfect is if the right softkey would "default" to "Contacts" after like 5 seconds. Who knows. I'm stoked regardless.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I had the BJ2 on 3G, but downgraded to the BJ1 with setting to permanent Edge connection and absolutely love the monster battery power and simplicity of the WM5 OS.

Yes he has. There are some bugs still, as the release is only in Alpha stage. I'm using the latest beta (Beta 6) and it works like a champ. I'm closely following along with his 6.1 release, but am waiting on a few of the bugs to be worked out.

The big show stopper for me with 6.1 right now is that the SMS/MMS is broken. He might have fixed that by now, I do not know exactly... but that and the camera are a few applications I use daily and would require them be working before taking the plunge.

You might want to give it a bit more time to be put through the ringer if you are relying on the device though

I have Opera Browser 4.65 on my phone blackjack I WM6 with Opera 4.65i didnt apply the license yet so its 30 trial now.

so wheni open opera it is not the same as opera on wm5

i now see the windows taskbar frozen and now i see a nav bar on top.

when i add new windows there are multi tabs now. but i can access any pages. or the url bar.

dont know whats wrong.

and opera mini 4 not good and IE too.

ugh

Well I took the bait and went for it. It works great... and mean better than ever. I really LOVE the sweet new features like the Threaded SMS, Recent Programs, new Task Manager and the new Card Wheel homescreen.

The new Card Wheel Homescreen fixes all my problems with the original because now the phone will default to the main card (time and date) which sets the left softkey to Contacts automatically. The old one would stay on the last card used and the left softkey could be any one of numerous shortcuts which would take time to scroll through the cards just to find the contacts card to give you access to your numbers.

I installed this version 2 days ago and already have I gotten comments, from strangers looking over my shoulder, about the threaded SMS.

It really works like a dream. Hats off to you Da_G.

well how do i tell which version. on the opera site the download lists the download as Windows Mobile 5/6 PPC, Professional, Classic so i dont know how to install it differently.

no, the webmaster is still in Dallas and the webhoster is still in Los Angeles...spent the whole weekend trying to battle this guy; would get it back up and he would hit again.

we finally blocked him out but I had to completely wipe everything, so I will this week get it back up.

Thank you all! Ok so here it is, djares, my hoster at Phirefast.com was able to go the extra mile and back up ALL the applications, including ROM images, ALL the Sound files, and Homes Screens, so I have it intact.

It's just as well, I've been wanting to rebuild anyway.

I hope to have it up this Friday. Unfortunately, I dont have the list of members, specifically, the site Admins and their emails, so heres what you can do:

Send me your name, email, and what username you want, and When I build the new site, I will email you with the user info to access it.

Again, all, I have enjoyed this community, the friends I have made from this, and the things that I have learned. And if yall are looking for a webhoster, you cant go wrong with djares over at phirefast, he will really take care of you!

I'm pretty sure samsung's site will still have the stock wm6 rom and rom loader.

well knock on wood. I'm just curious as how the hackers started uploading files in the first place. All it takes is 1 small upload (of a php based file browser) to be able to take control of your site and get access to EVERYTHING.

I think I would leave the upload features disabled for a while.

Secondly, with 6.1 does the side scroll wheel still work? I had the Blackjack 2, currently using a iphone, curve, unbranded E62. But I held onto my i607, now I have a itch to go back to it and would like to try wm 6.1.

any help would be appreciated.

Questions specific to that ROM may be better addressed at the site where it is discussed... http://txcaesar.net/mobile/mobile/ . That site will be full of users of that phone and can probably get an answer to you quicker. I don't recall having any problems with the scroll wheel, but then again I didn't use it that much on that phone.

Hi!

Does anyone know whether the wm6.1 at txcaesar (http://txcaesar.net/mobile/mobile/index.php) download section can be installed on sgh-i600 version? Because it says there as for i607. And the file name is i607-wm61-Da_G-Beta-2. I'm particularly concerned about video call. Will it work on i600, because I know i607 doesn't have a front-camera?

Also, for anyone who has installed this WM6.1, do you know whether it's stable? I heard that the video camera doesn't work. Is this true? I take videos a lot. In fact, I just bought an 8Gbmicrosdhc for this. I want to install it especially because of the sms threading feature.

I would not apply the i607 firmware to your phone. The specs are different (WiFi support, for one) and it hasn't been tested with your phone. I would post at that site if you have further questions about trying that.

pgens, I went and installed i607's WM6.1 on my SGH-i600 anyway ;-) It installed ok.

Here are what I found:
The goods:
1) threaded SMS works
2) 3G works.
3) USB internet sharing works
4) Voice call works

The bads:
1) no video call,
2) camera cannot be launched,
3) no sound at all from back speaker
4) no wifi.
5) Bluetooth cannot be turned on.
6) MMS Settings have to be set up manually
7) Since back-speaker doesn't work, I set the profile to 'ring and vibrate', but even then, when a call comes in, the vibrate doesn't work

Really hope Da_G will make a WM6.1 for SGH-i600.

Also, just wanna ask others who have i600/i607 whether voice/sound recordings (not call records; just normal record) quality is good or bad on your phone? Because I also have TyTN II, and the recording quality is extremely poor on blackjack compared to TyTN II. I used all three known voice recording apps, ie built-in 'Voice Notes', 'Vito AudioNotes' and 'Resco Audio Recorder'. The volume is so soft on blackjack. Even though I set mic-gain to high, the volume is still so low.

I bought a second-hand blackjack and quickly upgraded it to WM6 (and now to WM6.1). I was wondering if the upgrade caused this. Can anyone who still has blackjack with WM5 check the voice recording quality on theirs? One of the reasons I tried WM6.1 was to see whether the recording quality will improve. But as above, since back-speaker doesn't even work, I can't even check whether the recording quality improves or not. I don't know why the quality is so poor on blackjack. Is there a limitation with its microphone or something?

naw i've known about windows mobile 6, i've had it on my blackjack a while. but windows mobile 6.1?....i know they have come out with 6.1 but i had yet to see it available. if it is 6.1 and not 6 that we are speaking about, is it official or unofficial.

has anyone had any problems with the 6.1 rom? i decided to reluctantly install the b2 aaaand....hmm well it's actually pretty sweet....the sound seems a little lower than wm6...i have my settings for Reminders as VIBRATE AND RING, however it only rings....any tips or advice?
