Just make sure you understand what you're doing. While the cooked ROM has worked perfectly for me and several others, it is always possible that somehow it will fry (brick) your device. Use extreme caution when installing ROMS, and honestly I'd say only do it if you can accept the fact that you might have a dead device (with no warranty) after the attempt. |

Your TomTom needs for the 'internet gateway' device to support the older Bluetooth DUN (Dial Up Networking) profile. I've used both, and once it's working PAN is better from an ease of use standpoint (one click, no config, online). But DUN is better from a compatibility standpoint, as many I-need-internet-over-bluetooth devices don't support PAN yet (many GPS's, Nokia n770/800/810, etc). It is possible to have DUN in a WM6 machine, but it takes some work. My hacked-WM6-ROM Cingular 8125 has the DUN hacked back into it by the ROM creator. It works perfectly for both DUN and PAN connections, albeit limited to EDGE only speeds. As far as BT DUN on a BJ, I've explored and tinkered with many options. Registry hacks, copied EXE's, PDAConnect by June Fabrics, hacks on the other device to make it understand PAN, etc. None of it worked to give DUN-only connectivity between my WM5 BJ and (insert device here). |

As a paying customer, I'm pissed at AT&T for dragging their feet on this project for almost a year now. How many ship dates have they missed now? Six? If T-Mobile would only put up a half dozen more towers where I live, I'd switch in a heartbeat.

Using this method I was able to isolate the "bad" contact record. I deleted it and re-created it in Outlook and that fixed the problem... everything transfers to WM6 just fine.
This problem was also showing when I got the Moto Q9m, which runs WM6. When I ran the above method on the BJ, it solved the problem for the Q9m too. |

Since i've got some free time (slow election), here's what ive got going on with the cooked rom so far... 3 hours down, 12 to go..
OBEX FTP: 100% Startup/Shutdown screen+sound nuked: 100% BT DUN: 80%. can connect, but data will not transfer. BT PAN: 80%: same issues as DUN BMW fix: 100% integrating i600 features: 50%. still gotta port over voice command, text-to-speech, the podcast client, and a few other things. the cardwheel/carousel plugin is being a particular pain. ROM Kitchen: 50%, maybe ready for a preliminary release tomorrow. over 50k dls in the first day, awesome! |

XP SP2 Activesync 4.5 (fresh reinstall) It partners up but gives an error on every sync. Here is a great hack I posted months ago that kinda went under the wire. http://howardforums.com/showthread....24&page=1&pp=15 This hacks makes "My Documents" = SD Card, and deletes "Storage Folder" Lots of benefits from doing this such as ringtones, backgrounds, homescreens all running from the SD card. There are absolutely no negative side effects. I've been using this for months now. |

I was looking at some of the code from the carousel theme, it seems to make some function calls to directx that may be included on i600 but not i607. Maybe if I can port over the display drivers that'll get it flowin'.. that'll be the first thing I try tonight or tomorrow morning. :O By the way, AS over BT is working fine here, XP x64 with bluesoleil stack. Oh yeah, if anyone gets a chance see if you can find a dumped rom or upgrader .exe or .bin for a WM6 standard phone with operational ICS. Preferably one that's natively english language (i.e. not uk english but american english) The more functional ICS stacks I get to take a look at, the easier it will be to make ours functional ![]() I think i've got a pretty good idea how to get BT DUN functional, hopefully I get a chance to try it out later tonight. |

Can't we just copy the ICS app from the windows folder in wm5. Save it to a sd card, and then paste in the windows folder in wm6???? |

I can get the exe file, but what then?
I've searched for instructions but have not found any in the past threads, is this something ought to be left to more experienced programmers or is this a no brain install? Thanks in advance. |

About that hack... just change the entry of "Storage Card" to "My Documents" Then Delete the "My Documents" folder using file explorer. Power Cycle. Now you'll have My Documents with a SD card icon, and Storage Card folder will be gone. Now your My Documents folder is linked to your SD Card, which is awesome. 1 less place to keep clean |

WM5 has be re-installed for now. Any thoughts? |

Anyone else have a problem with this or does anyone have a tip for me on how to fix it? I wouldn't normally worry, but I enjoyed having Ball and Chain play when my wife called. Thanks! |
