After installing this I now notice that text messages no longer change the right soft key to message, it stays as contacts. I am going to try resco and change the start menus. IE looks cool now though.

Start menu editing is the same as it was for WM5

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Shell/StartMenu

little bummed that hitting the end key still doesnt close out programs IE still has no exit button either.

Overclocked gives me a mapping error on restart anyone figured this out?

The one annoyance for me is that now when I press and hold the key for the phone to go into vibrate mode it switched so silence. Any ideas on that one?

Is there anyway to be able to push the power button on top and have it lock the keypad and turn off the screen like WM5 PPC. Then I can just push the power button again to unlock the keypad and turn on the screen? It gets annoying having to hold down the end key to lock then go through the whole unlock process. Why wouldn't they just have it the same way as a PPC?

do you already have "silence" set to vibrate?
if so, that is probably why its automatically doing that...
if not set it to vibrate in your profile settings.

WM 6 has a profile set-up for both silent and vibrate. On my device the shortcut takes you to the vibrate profile not the silent. I'd just edit the profile settings that yours goes to threu the shortcut to match whatever you want it to do.

Is anyone else having problems using any touchtone services. For instance, i called cingular and they asked for me to enter my number which I did, and it didn't recognize my input at all. The same thing happened earlier when I called american express, it wasn't recognizing any of my inputs. Also, 611 won't work from my phone.

Ok... So Pocket MSN is that Oz software. Not like the Pocket MSN on PPC devices like the Treo 750. This will charge per text if used. I thought it would be the other. Thanx.

Anyone have a link to where you need to go to downgrade? I'm not ready to do it yet but I might have to.

go to Samsung's site and look under their support section FAQ for Blackjack. There you can download the WM5 update and revert back.

no I didn't do a hard reset. I think i'm gonna hard reset it right now if I can't fix it. I tried changing it to tone and it still doesnt work.

Another problem i'm having is dialing someone on my recent calls list, it just says ERROR operation failed.

Why not the slightly updated ROM image on Samsung website? The WM5 OS part is not changed except for icons.

After 24 hours with WM6, I rolled back to the last official update. My extended battery didnt last a full OFF day on a single charge, OMAPclock wont run, and it was wayyyy slower than even un-overclocked WM5. Looks promising, but this build is def. a wayyy early build... I hope

HA! I'm sticking with WM5. I already installed Office I have no need for WM6 currently at all. I don't even see the hype with all this WM6 hub bub anyway. They should just have focused their energy on Photon or the merging of the 2 OS' with some revolutionary changes.

Two questions that interest me:

1) Does this update include that awesome looking carousel home screen? (Please tell me it does!)

2) When in the SMS/MMS screen, every time I would hit BACK, it would automatically go back to the home screen, and no the screen that I came from, usually the Messaging screen (with SMS/MMS and Outlook Email on it). Is this fixed? When I hit back on the SMS/MMS screen (where all my text messages are shown) will it go back to whatever page I was on?

Did you happen to figure this out? It is a bit irritating. I have 'push mail' for my corporate email and it would make the word message appear as well.

Perhaps it is a registry setting...

Question, exactly what other thread was it that listed the reg key to delete in order to allow ring tones? I did a hard reset already but my phone isn't recognizing any of my ringtones that I had on it before. I've tried leaving them in My Documents and in the Ringtones folder that's now included in My Documents, but nothing's working. Thanks

Anyone else having trouble composing emails? I can read them just fine, but if I hit reply or try to compose a new message, it just gives me a blank white screen. Only way to get back into my mail is to launch task manager and kill the Messaging app, or reboot the phone.

Leave it connected and install the drivers for the phone again.

I grew a bit impatient and took out the battery which I know should never be done but the phone is now working and wm6 looks really nice. I'm only having a problem when I go to a web page that I couldn't go on in wm5 that it just starts loading and lading again continuisly

Text issues have been addressed in WM6. Speedy texting.

Let's make a list of tips on how to do stuff, since that's what this thread suggests. For instance, someone help me out with the following on WM6, and then we can insert all of this stuff into the first post:

Removing "Message Sent" prompt
Disabling Startup/Shutdown Sounds
Power Button only to Lock/Unlock Keypad
Windows Live Search bar on home screen

I'm sure I can come up with more.

Message sent prompt is same as was for wm5. My assumption is most of the hacks are simular maybe some slight alteration.

That's what I assumed, but I was hoping we could have them in a nice organized place, for those people like me that never bothered to tweak WM5 and don't care to scroll through that 40 or 50 page thread. Please?

to my knowledge, no one has found it yet. A shortcut exists but the file it points to is missing (from what i can tell)

Has anyone else noticed that the Message Center no longer lets you delete all from the sent folder. I can do it from the Text Inbox but the sent wont let me select delete all.

NM figured it out.
