tytn calls received as faxes

strange problem
my office uses a 'smart box' to decide whether a incoming call is originating from a fax or phone. when I call from the tytn it hears it as a fax call and turns on the fax machine.
the 'smart box' can't be programed.
the radio version is 1.42.00.00
I don't want to give this phone up but if I can't call the one place I need to it's useless.
