Hi all, I don't know too much about phones so please forgive the questions:
I just upgraded from my E815 to the MOTORAZR maxx (VERIZON) and I want to give the E815 to a friend in the Domenican Republic. ?Will it work there as is or do I have to hack it or unlock it? How do I get all my personal info out of it, like my cell number flashing on the screen when it's turned on. I already reset it. Any help would be appreciated.

They can bring it to a Verizon store and they will program it for them for free.. Or she could call them from another phone and they will help her out!

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately they don't have Verizon in the Dominican Republic. And I also noticed that the providers there only use GSM phones, whereas my e815 is a CDMA phone. Is it still possible? Thanks.

well no, you can't use a cdma phone as GSM. The only way is that they find a CDMA network provider. No hack will make the trick. sorry

Yes they do have Verizon. First it was named Codetel but then Verizon bought them then it lasted about a year or 2 with the Verizon name now its back to Codetel from what I know...so you shouldnt have any problems with that
