Is it only compatible in Japan?

there is no such thing as a toshiba 912SH....
the SH designation is reserved for sharps...
*look under the softbank logo... it says 912T*
with only a handful of exceptions in the current line, most softbank phones do work outside of the country.
though toshibas have been unlocked for "worldly" use in the past...
it is likely this model may not used outside of japan...

What kind of info were you looking for? It hasn't been released here yet, but will be in August. I'm not sure if it will be both 3G and GSM or only 3G.
For now, here's what I know:
