Not Unlocking! Lock Code forgotten

I trashed my phone, so a buddy gave me his wife's old one. I just want to delete all her crap and start filling the phone with mine, but she forgot what the unlock code for the settings. If this violates the rule, sorry didn't mean to. I don't need it unlocked for changing services or anything, just want to reset to factory defaults.
