Dual-slider at AT&T --- not from Samsung

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: mobileChicago

I'm hearing a rumor from AT&T people that they have a dual-sliding device in the works, but that its not from Samsung (was thinking of the F520). Anyone have any insight here?

I've been hearing alot of rumors about a Pantech phone with a keyboard, can't find any info on it though. Maybe this is it...

"not from Samsung"? Hey then it might be a decent phone.......

Posted by: neuspeedz

I have a feeling the Pantech will be very similar to the Ocean, but probably not run the same OS.

Yea I think it'll use the regular pantech O/S (branded by ATT of course). Hopefully they don't price it like the old samsung dual flip we had last year. It needs to be low enough that people will actually buy it.

That sounds great. AT&T needs an enV killer.

Why Do They Have To Get It Now!!! Can't They Wait I Just Got The Freakin N75 But I Want A Qwerty Baddddd!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: colione

Not to worry Lil Moshi... I think there will be alot more qwerty phones (not pda's) hitting stores to target the text messaging crowd.

Pantech will be a growing player in the crowded ATT stores. They alone are launching at least 5 more devices this year. Not bad for a company that only had 2 devices in stores last year. They must be doing something right.

The device is called the Pantech "DUO" and it will be out around october. From what I understand though, its gonna be a windows mobile phone and not just a text friendly phone.

I don't believe this user has (I'm not counting testing in the store.) I actually have gotten great feedback from users of this phone. The key is that most of them came in thinking that the phone "would" be a P.O.S. and it turned out pretty damn good. The camera is better that I had originally thought it would be for such a small device.

I would not purchase the Pantech c3/c3b, but would definitely recommend it to users looking for compact and "reliable."

We had a little Pantech hosted meeting a few months ago, and that was the word on the street... dual slider, windows mobile 6, 3g, the works... they're also supposed to have a few other 3g devices out this year.

it's the pantech duo alright, just saw it on the pricing sheet today

should start around $300 with a 2 year contract

It's also called the Pantech PN-810

Posted by: Kolt Seavers

If I am not mistaken, the Pantech PN-810 is the Helio Ocean.

Posted by: ivwshane

I'm pretty sure it will be called the c810.
fcc c810

The two phones are apparently very similar.

I'm kinda amused that Helio didn't get exclusive rights to their "dream device."

Here's the pix for the new Pantech C810 dual slider:

Nice phone.

Posted by: wakka092

AT&T needs this phone to freshen up the product line.. AT&T does have nice phones, but not much aside from flips and a bar phone or two.

But this will be my iphone backup! Is it $250 or $300? I am confused on that part.

Posted by: Kolt Seavers

I am guessing $250. Who knows...since it is a Pantech, it may be much less. Here's to wishful thinking!

the dual sliding phone is most likey the Nokia N95 for america. Theres articals over on Phone Scoop and Phone Arena that talk about the idea of the N95 comming to At&t. I figure this most likely happen sometime around christmas if it is true..

I personally would really love it if the N95 was on AT&T..my upgrade date is christmas day !

Um...do you read the thread?

We have pictures of the Pantech dual slider.

The N95 isn't a "true" dual slider, anyway.
