n00b: Motoroloa V551 network issues

Whats up - total n00b to unlocked phones.
Just got a unlocked Cingular Moto V551 as a replacement for the RAZR I dropped. I popped in the sim card and it started working right away. I can make calls, receive texts. When I try to ccess the T-Mobile internet network, I cannot make a connection - I cannot receive picture texts since it needs to download.
How can I configure the phone to access the T-mobile network?
