HTC Tornado vs. Motorola Q

I know this is an odd comparison to be making (t9 vs. Qwerty device), but I need to get some perspective here.
I posted something similiar recently, but now I'd like to be more specific with my question. I'm talking about the Tornado (T-mobile SDA US) vs the Q.
Does anyone have any experiences with both devices that they'd like to share? Which would you recommend, and why?
Forget about the carrier, forget GSM vs. CDMA, forget SIM cards, etc... just compare the PHONES, and how well they function.
Thanks!

Well, maybe this will help... I used an SP5 for a year and recently switched to a BlackJack. Not a Q, but close...
The QWERTY keypad is great. Even if you're not a heavy SMS/Emailer, things like typing in a web address or search terms in Google, etc. are much easier than using T9/multitap. It makes a huge difference in usability. I find myself using the browser way more because of that.
I also like the wide layout of the QVGA screen compared to the vertical orientation on the SP5. For e-mail and most web sites, the screen on the Q/BlackJack is just a lot more practical and convenient.
In terms of speed, the BlackJack is 20 Mhz faster than the 200 Mhz processor in the SP5. I think the Q is faster still. I definitely notice some additional speed when moving around the OS and opening apps, web pages, etc. Which is nice. And again, more practical and usable.
I think the BlackJack is a bit smaller and lighter than the Q, but overall the added width and reduced thickness is deifinitely worth the addition of the QWERTY vs the SP5. I carry my phone in my back pocket and I think this form factor is actually better (to my surprise) than the SP5 because of thiness.
One of the biggest losses going to the Q, of course, will be WiFi. If you're like me though, the novelty of WiFi has probably worn off by now. With lower data prices and higher speeds (EVDO/HSDPA) I really could care less about WiFi now because of the way I use my phone (low bandwidth e-mail and mobile internet).
I have always been a candybar form factor user and as much as I liked the SP5, I'd never give up the QWERTY "BlackBerry" form factor. I get 1000x more out of my Windows Mobile device now.
(P.S. Forget the Q and CDMA - get a BlackJack or wait for the Q9 - you'll be sorry otherwise

Problem is, I can get a killer price for service with sprint, the only downside is that the only smartphone available is the Q...
So, I want to hear just how much worse it will be. But I don't want to start a whole Sprint vs T-mobile thing again (did that already). I just want to know about hardware now, not comparing services...

I have a blackjack and my wife has a 3125. I hate the t9 pad for a windows device. I have used a friends Q, and basically I think the Q and blackjack are about the same. Without a slide out keypad, I would not like a candybar phone. Even though I don't e-mail a lot, I find myself using the keyboard quite a bit. Especially since I like to try new things on the phone. I want the phone to do everything I can to make my life easier. I find that I can type with one hand if needed, but I usually use two. Whenever I have to show my wife something on her phone or setup something on her phone, I find it to be a pain. The speed of the processor has never been an issue for me. I don't know the quality of the screen on the SDA, but the Q and blackjack are great. the 3125 is good, but not as good as I expected and not as good as my blackjack. Saving money on service is always a good thing.
