just curious.... how many COR reps plan on buying an iPhone for themselves or maybe even a family member?

I think it's going to be funny how many people will be hoping to get one June 29th only to find out that some reps will gobble them up for themselves.

Reps aren't allowed to purchase for the first two weeks and even then there will be absolutely NO discount available to Apple and ATT reps.

i want to get it, to only replace my aging and quite crappy moto v3. i miss 95% of my calls and voicemails pop up randomly.

after 6.5 months of this im now tired of having to deal with it.

i plan on getting one, but after seeing the Curve today it's gonna be a tough decision of which to get...because i absolutely love blackberry's above all else. not to mention i was just given an N75, so i figure i need to use that for a little while before i go to something else...don't wanna make supervisors mad lol. but yeah, if there is ANY kind of discount on the iPhone i will get it at some point unless there are tons of issues with it.

but it's totally right, reps aren't supposed to buy phones til 2 weeks after they come out...but we all know some shady things go on in some stores

That would be impossible to enforce.

how so? that's what managers are for...not to mention you have to enter your CUID to get the employee discount.

Everything I have read and seen is that Cingular/Apple stores have a 5yr exclusive, so no resellers will have access.

i understand that, i was almost positive there would be no discount...i was talking about the 2 week policy though. and even if your friend did come in and buy it, then turn around and give it to you that raises an ethics issue. besides, full price on this device is 2yr contract price and you can't buy it without the contract...i'm assuming us employees will be able to though

I think what the dude means is that he will sell it to a person who in turn will give it to him. For instance, right now the Curve is in high demand so most managers won't let the Rep buy it. However, let's say the rep's friend comes in etc they will be free to sell out it without the manager being suspicious and later on they give it to the rep.

I bought a curve the first day it came out. But in my area curves are plenty in stock. Its been nice actually having a live device. Ive sold so many more curves then anyone else that the phone is paying for its self.

As for the iphone. If the supply doesnt live up to the demand, i can see them barring us from buying it for a long time. This is something completely new so who knows whats going to happen.

out of curiosity, im sure this has been mentioned already but..Apple announced the shipping date of the iphones on the 29th...does that nessesarily mean they will be recieve on the 29th?

Or you can goto a Cingular store that is located in an area where there isn't much traffic. For example, I drove by this one Cingular store, it located in a nice up and coming mall too bad, its located in a dilapitated area... I'm sure they will have an iphone...
