Hi.

I want to convert a T610 into a T630 and understand that I will need to replace the screen etc and flash T630 firmware onto it.

Does anyone know what the latest firmware is for the T630 (Unbranded) in the UK, and where I can download it?!

Also, is it possible to flash firmware using a DCU-11 cable?

You CANNOT use a T630 screen with a T610. They are different (I tried mate!)... two different LCD's... one is a STN LCD, the other a standard LCD. Won't work at all.

Which means presumably the firmware won't work - different hardware. But it might, 'cos only the screen is different. You can always flash it back later.

But, in fairness... little difference. A case swap, and only the best people could tell it was different! That I have done!

I thought that flashing the T630 firmware onto a T610 would sort this problem?

It might solve the problem! I just dont know... it also might have a board difference! (although they do look the same!)

Go for it... if it works, let us know! You can soon flash it back if not. The LCD is better than the STN LCD because it is sharper and has better clarity. Look at a T610 and T630, you'll see the diffence! Although, there isn't too much if you don't compare them, heh.

I've been trying to find out how to connect a T610 LCD to my PC... can't figure it out. lol.
