Weird external display/voicemail problem

A few weeks ago I flashed/flexed my unlocked RAZR v3 and just noticed in the past week that when anyone leaves me a voicemail message (when T-mobile sends the "you have a voicemail" message), the light on the external display stays on until I open the phone -- the screen still goes blank with just the digital clock, but the light stays on. 
Assuming the flash/flex did this, would a re-flashing take care of it? I'll admit that I acted like a total noob and just flashed the phone mindlessly and pretty much lost everything in the process, so I'm not eager to re-flash without some kind of guidance that I obviously missed the first time.
Any thoughts from the experts here??
