Weird Blackjack problem: apps accessing ringtones run very slow.

When I scroll down when editing or adding contacts, the app freezes for 30-60 seconds when I reach the Custom Ringtone field. This also happens when I attempt to edit or open an Alarm event.

The apps eventually do start again, and I am able to assign ringtones. I only have a few custom ringtones and they work just fine when I receive a call or an SMS.

I have no idea what could be causing this, or how to fix it. Anyone have a clue?

I HATE THIS ABOUT THE BJ. Even if you want to simply edit a contact's profile, and you happen to tab down to the "custom ringtone" field to just get past it, the phone freezes for what seems like forever so it can index all of your music files. The only workaround I've found for my issue is to pop out my storage card before I edit a contact. It's frustrating...
