How's the software development for the P800? It uses a completely new OS. Just hoping that software will be widely avaliable.

I HAVE ONLY HAD MY P800 A FEW WEEKS, BUT I HAVE BEEN AMAZED AT THE AMOUNT OF SOFTWARE AND FREEWARE AVAILABLE, NOT TO MENTION LINK AND THREADS ON THIS FORUM SHOWING SOFTWARE AND ACCESSORIES IN DEVELOPMENT. I SAY MAKE THE PURCHASE! IT'S THE COOLEST THING I'VE EVER OWNED

Yeah I'm madly looking for one. Still not 100% decided if I should wait till it comes out in locally or buy one abroad. Also thinking maybe I should wait for a price drop, but I think that might be a long wait...

That's not entirely accurate. SymbianOS and it's ancestors have been around for a number of years. UIQ, the interface that the P800 uses, however, is new. Porting applications between different interfaces for SymbianOS is fairly simple. That is part of the reason why we are seeing many new applications being released for the P800.

I'm just thinking if it would be smarter to buy a Palm based device? Like a Tungsten W. Better software support.
