One of my relatives gave me an 8525 as a present, and everything worked fine for about a week.
No receipt available, and no warranty according to HTC or cingular.
Here's the problem,
the screen, when it's fully charged, the phone works fine, for a while. When i use it for about 30 or whatever 40 minutes, the screen starts to act up. Sometimes it will start clicking by itself. When i have the screen taps on, I could hear the "click click click" and the windows menu pop up randomly as if i was clicking it with the stylus but im not. And, sometimes the touchscreen wont work at all, it will just completely STOP. So then i have to turn off the phone, do a hard reset, then recharge it and it works fine for about 20 minutes again but then it messes up again.
I tried, buying a new touchscreen from ebay and swapping it, i have never done anything like this before, but i was succesful installing it, but then the same thing started again, after about 30 mins of use. So now i know it's probably not the screen.
So, thinking it wasn't the screen, i said maybe i should just switch back to my original screen since that's the one that came with the phone and probably better off with that one, SO i switched the screen back 2 the original one, and now the orignal screen had a white bar, aboout half a centimeter wide, that runs from top to bottom of my screen, and the screen appears to be shifted to the right due to the white bar on the left........
Im thinking of just trashing this phone, im really disapointed in this issue and HTC wants to charge me $250 to repair it.......
Anybody know what could be happening? Thanks in advance.

Most high-resolution screens are addressed through multiplexing. 1 contact, controlling multiple rows/columns. Probably true for the screen on this phone.
What is likely going on, is that one or two of your electrical contacts for the screen, aren't making contact. That could explain the white bar...non-active pixels.
As to it just stopping...I find that interesting. While I do have an idea or two, they involve things like cold solder joints and the like. If you do decide to trash it, let me know. I want one, and would consider it a "challenge" to get it working. Not sure I could do it (my skills are not sufficient for some of the more difficult problems) but maybe one of my friends could help me out, if it's beyond me.
