How to set forwarding on Blackberry 8700c so I won't get dinged for calls while abroa

Hi folks,

I don't know if this is possible, but here goes.

I'm going to be in germany with my Blackberry 8700c. I'll have the blackberry on for email.... but I'll be carrying a local German phone for everything else.

I have a US based VOIP number (which forwards to my German Cell) that I'd like to forward all my Blackberry calls to.

Is there some kind of forwarding (unconditional or whatever they call it)... that would forward my voice calls to my Voip Number, WITHOUT me getting Dinged for the roaming fee?... that is for it to go to be forwarded without it every trying to find me in europe...

Any ideas?
If not, how can I disable my voicemail while i'm abroad so I don't get hit with the roaming voicemail charge?

I don't believe what you're asking for is possible. If you setup forwarding on the BB, it's going to get you nailed for roaming fees since the call will come from the US, go to Germany and then back to the US. I suggest you turn off all forwarding on the BB while you're in Germany and then you won't have to worry about roaming fees at all, unless you make calls with the phone yourself.

Since I don't claim to know everything about phones and service, it can't hurt to call Cingular too and see what options they have for you. I believe there is an international service department that should know what they're talking about.

Call CS. They can set immediate call forwarding which just blindly forwards; doesn't search for the user on the network and thus no roaming fee since as far as ATT is concerned; its a domestic call.

I'll probbably do the same next month on my trip.
