Here are the final settings for getting email on the T-Mobile Network using an unlocked unbranded D900.

Items:

D900
T-Zones

Settings:

STEP 1
Use Current T-Zones Settings (from provider). If not enter these settinggs using the following menu shortcuts:
Menu/Messages(5)/Settings (5)/EMails(3)/Email Profiles(4)/Profile Settings(2)

You can create a new profile or validate the T-zones is setup as listed)
******
Profile Name: T-Zones
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Login ID: <Blank>
Password: <Blank>
DNS1: 0.0.0.0
DNS2: 0.0.0.0

Step 2
Change email profile to reflect T-Zones using the following menu shortcuts:
Menu/Messages(5)/Settings (5)/EMails(3)/Email Profiles(4)/Current Profile (1)
Select T-Zones (the one listed above)

Step 3
Setting Up email accounts
* this only works for IMAP and POP email accounts*
Menu/Messages(5)/Settings (5)/EMails(3)/Email Accounts(3)/Account Settings (2)
Create a new account
POP 3 example to follow:

Screen 1
In Use (checked)
Account Name (A short identifier so you can quick glance when looking at messages) **Cox.net used as example
Menu(options)/ Next

Screen 2
User Name: The user name used without the @xxx.zzz
email address: the email address to this account: nnn@xxx.zzz
Reply address: same as above
Menu/Options/Next

Screen 3
SMTP Server: myemail.t-mobile.com **always use this for pop emails**
SMTP Port: 25
SMTP User id:tel#:n
(this is obtained from logging into t-zones and setting up a quickpath email accounts that t-zones can capture. its quick and easy to get this done. Once completed. you will get pop settings for each account you set up (it streamlines the email process) e.g. mine is 619xxxxxxx:1
SMTP User ID: your email account password
Secure Connection (checked)
Retrieve server type: POP3 ***IMAP see below***
POP3 Server: pop.west.cox.net (this can change depending on your email server)
POP3 Port: 110
Same ID and Password (Unchecked)
Pop3 User ID: user name
Pop3 password: email account password
APOP Login (unchecked)
Secure Connection (unchecked)
Menu(options)Save

Thats it! POP email is set up. Sadly email is retrieval settings are never/1hr/ ... so its not instant, but you can have it deleted from your inbox instantly. Make sure you check the send and recieve settings optioons in the email setup screens.

****The same goes for IMAP except instead of using the POP settings:****
Retrieve Settings: IMAP4
IMAP Server (dot mac used for this example) mail.mac.com
IMAP port: 993
Same ID and Password (unchecked)
IMAP 4 User id: email address for this account
IMAP4 User Password: Password for this account
Secure Login: Yes
Include Attachments: Yes
Email Retrieval Limit: 100
Menu(options)/ Save

Hopefully this works!!!
