69% to 31%? We need a recount!

lol...i guess i shouldn't have voted for the 3650...i think there are a lot more 3650 users out there than P800

Something funny in that contest. They canceled the original because someone stuffed the ballot box, but it seems the same thing happened with the second round of voting.

If you notice, almost ALL of the comments below the results are in favor of the P800. I'm sure this is only a fraction of the comments left by voters, but if they just picked a few at random, looks like the numbers don't add up.

Is there another Bush brother employed by Cnet?

When I checked two nights ago, the P800 and 3650 were about 54/46. There were about 1500 votes cast, which was consistent with the other contests. Therefore, I have every reason to believe it was legitimate at that time.

Too bad it turned into a contest of vote-riggers before CNet switched to the e-mail approach, which I see they did not carry over into the next round.

In any case, now it's between the 3650 and the LG VX4400. I guess I'll support GSM over CDMA and smartphones over ordinary clamshells.

Its just a spam competition ! How do they know if the e-mail address ia valid. Sure those winners have guys that vote multiple times with some make-up email address, who knows !! We users know our SE phones are far superior than those !!!!! Let them win and feel happy about it !! Its a pointness competition !

Friend of mine got his hands on a 3650 in Tokyo, said it felt very cheap ("plastic"). He normally swears by Nokia, since he had a horrible experience with the T68 here in NYC, and currently uses a Nokia 7210 (which he loves). He thinks the P800, from a "look and feel" point-of-view is by far the superior phone.

No number of stupid competitions will save the P800 or any other phone. SE needs to get the carriers to start selling the phone. Nokia's 3650 has a head start on the P800, because you can already buy it through Tmobile. The carrier subsidy will go a long way in making the P800 a reasonable option for non-fanatics.

Someguy probably wrote a script to vote or something. Cant be that hard. If only they did IP checks i mean it cant be that hard.

THEY CHEATED!

this whole contest does not make sense.... you can see in the tournament grid, some stupid kyoceras winning and so on.... out of all those phones matchedup i would say p800 or a v205 should be winning, but then again, how can they put a 7210 against something like p800... its all pathetic if you ask me....

lg phone might win over the 3650 and will not be a surprise... plain stupid... thats why we need to go to sites like mobile-review and so on, not cnet for the latest reviews and phone info, they don't pay attention to kyocera crap....

I agree with you 100%. Look at how many people still buy the Nokia 3360/3390! There is nothing to recommend those clunky phones (which are nearly as big as my P800!) except that they are "free" and have the Nokia name on them.

SE has had a problem in winning carrier support. Most carry only one of their phones. Not only that, they need to get them to carry the T310/T316 (which appear to be far better than the T300 they replace) and the T610/T616.

AT&T Wireless has the 3650 now for $149 for a limited time. I've heard rumors that AWE will carry the P800, but nothing definitive. A $300 smartphone would be the perfect tool for them to compete with T-Mobile's Treo and Blackberry models. For T-Mo, the addition of the P800 could make them the carrier of choice among enterprises, as they would have every type of device (Palm, Blackberry, PocketPC, SymbianOS) that a business might want.

We "early adopters" willing to pay $650 won't keep the company going.

i don't think anybody went to a trouble of doing that... unless nokia paid....

well those are just humble opinions of the us consumers, who are less informed... they just like it and nothing we can do about it... thats why nokia is leading the cell phone market... while stuff like se is much more advanced and feature filled....

Hello,

I am the lucky owner of a "working" H3870-gsm/gprs jacket on tmobile here in the use - nYc.

No i will not yet get ride of my ipaq combo - there is too much stuff i can do additionally that the P800 can not do or i just simply have not discovert it yet - only have had it for 2 weeks. But the more i play with it the better it gets.

I have concidert of getting a 3650 for my gf so that we can fully use the advantages these phones have... of course it is better to have 2 similar phones just for MMS and especially this video clip sending.... that is new on tmobile....

Just judging from the locks (nobody should ever do that as we learned in shallow-hal) the P800 wins over looks...... what the hell was Nokia thinking with that stupid circle dial....... a round base on the bottom ...... what for maybe the Nokia designers have tought of some other usages other than a phone but i have not figured out what yet! just try placing that phone anywhere and make a selfvideo with a round bottom........ i do hope that SE will come out with the video record option on the P800..... i find that a very cool option..... or is that something it can do and i just have not figured it out yet...

Conclution:

I tend agreeing with the rest of the people - because of these design differences and the fact that the 3650 is symbian os 6.1 and the p800 is 7.0 just that should make it better... one thing that still makes me concider the 3650.... price with discount it is over 300 usd cheaper.... so i guess we should not judge it too hard on the looks really after all in an economy like this with all these uncertenties of war people take the 300 bucks over thinny differences i guess....
