V3i freezing...is it the 3g card?

I need some help....I recently got my Blackberry 8800 with the idea I could be switching back and forth the sim card (it's a 3g vs the V3i which is not 3G) between the 8800 and the v3i.... well it hasn't exactly worked that way

The v3i will work great for a whole day....then just freeze... Last night it was working great... this a.m. it was frozen... text message dropped in...you get the message "1 new text message from XX" but you can't press any keys, not to read the text message, dial, or anything... you close / open the phone same thing... I took the battery out 2-3 times, one time letting it sit off for 5 minutes and nothing.... It turns on, but IT IS NOT RESPONDING WHEN YOU PRESS THE KEYS..

This is a new replacement phone I got from Cingular last month, so I guess it's a refurb...

Any ideas? Cingular is just frustrating calling them...
