I've been wondering as of late the differences between the parting of BB devices towards business and consumer markets. The 8300 and 8800 come to mind, the 8800 costs more $499 the 8300 is $449 even though it appears to have more to offer in terms of features. Am I missing something key that the 8800 offers?
I recently purchased an 8800 as I miss my trusty 8700 and the Treo 750 I switched to reminded me why I hated Windows Mobile.

I have seen it mentioned either here or at pinstack.com that the price difference could possibly be due to the gps chip in the 8800. It was noted that the gps chip on the 8800 was more costly than the camera on the 8300. The responses to that post seemed to agree with the theory.

Yep. GPS cost > camera cost
Why else would crappy entry-level LG phones from two years ago be offering standard cameras built-in? GPS functionality, and now HSDPA, are still relative luxuries.
