BlackJack (new), Premier, data plan, rebate question

I am thinking of getting a BlackJack (new, not the refurb, which is sold out) off of my Premier site. I have a few questions first though, and I did search and read every post I could find on these subjects.
First, can you actually just order the phone only for $175, then do the mail-in $100 rebate? Furthermore, can you do that without adding the PDA Connect plan? I currently have the Media Max 200, and from what I have read, that will work with the BlackJack.
That would bring the phone to $75, which is the same price I would pay for it on Premier without a rebate if I add the PDA plan.
My ultimate goal would be to get the BlackJack for $75 after rebate, and move to the Media Max 1500, which would give me the same amount of messages and unlimited data as doing the PDA plan plus the 1500 message package, but at $29.99 a month vs. around $44.
Also, as far as I can tell from reading, there is no difference in internet and email functionality on the BlackJack with MM vs. PDA Connect, correct?
Lots of questions, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, you can send in the rebate on a Premiere order.
You can actually get it cheaper by getting the $100 for pick in a new plan + data and another $25 off when you do that. Then still send in the rebate.
Or just do a device upgrade only and do the rebate.
So far everyone who has tried has always gotten the rebate with the media max plan even though it's supposed to be the PDA plan. There's always a risk but so far it has always worked.
Yes Media Max works identically. You just aren't supposed to use it.
