I'm a current AT&T GSM subscriber using a Nokia phone but I really like the looks and feel of the Siemens. If I purchase the Siemens independently will it work when I put my sim card into it? I'm only interested in GSM, as I reside in a strong GSM area. I just love the way this phone feels in my hands. It is a perfect match if it will work.
Anybody, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

*Mod Note: Next time post your post in the Siemens forum... not the Siemens Faq Section... as your question is not a frequently asked question that holds importance to the users of this forum*
As for your question... if you purchase the fone unlocked and use your AT&T sim card the fone will work.

Yes it will work.
Just call att and tell them to switch you to the broadband plan, it gives you the exact same minutes for whichever plan you have and you can use TDMA and GSM.
I just bought this phone tonight and I'm loving it.

First, you mean Multiband, not broadband. Second, he's only interested in GSM, and if he swtiches to the multiband plan, his contract will be extended again.
Nuyawka: if you get an S46 all you will need to do is switch the SIM and you will be good to go.

It doesn't even need to be unlocked if its locked to at&t. You might be able to save some $ getting a locked one if you don't plan on switching carriers
