Ladies and gentlemen,

As I migrate from my soon-to-be-sold iPaq H5450 to my P800, there are two features I will miss that are not available currently on the P800: Vindigo and Zagat.

I'm sure there are others here who have favorite software and services which they would love to see on their P800.

I would like to propose that we use this or another thread to create such a wishlist. Then, we could perhaps take a few minutes to contact the companies and innocently ask whether they will be developing a version of their software for UIQ (the P800 platform). This way, we could create buzz for the platform with these companies, and perhaps get them to consider development.

Today, I used the Contact Us page on the Zagat site to ask whether they would offer a version of Zagat-to-Go for the P800, or a WAP version of their subscription site.

I also used the Vindigo Feature Request page to ask for Vindigo for the UIQ platform (select "Other" and type in UIQ, also type P800 so they know what you are talking about).

I would be more than happy to do the same for any other software or service providers if provided with such links by other users.

There is a thread on My-Symbian requesting SE to develop fax software for the P800...If any of you are interested post there as well please...It would be great to have fax on the P800...

I second that Pocket Informant and throw in Mapopolis. Lets not forget a database program like Handbase.

The software that I want is already being developed

--- slovoed dictionaries

The addressbook needs to add birthdays and anniversaries as well as "extensions" for phones and a few other features

--- FAXes would be nice too! I can fax from my T68 (I think) why not the p800? finally.... MOVIE CAPTURE SOFTWARE! --- oh and 256MB memory sticks

Hello,

A good start for requests here. If you noticed, I placed links to the appropriate contact pages and request forms to make it as easy as possible for all Hofoers to make these requests. If we all take a moment to do the same, perhaps more people will actually visit these pages and increase the number of requests made.

Remember, the point isn't just to voice our opinions here, but to rally some support from all Hofoers and send these opinions to the developers. I believe we should make it as effortless as possible...

I am very sure that most people in the business are in these forums if it be brighthand.com for ppc or here for mobiles or infosync or ppcnet and and and.

It is just confusing to me, and maybe i am wrong with my comment above, that most of the things that come out none of the forums are really noticed maybe because lawsuits from posters to companies about using these ideas from brilliant people that post here - i am not sure if Howard has somewhere a leagal part where he said that any ideas expressed here can freely be used by anybody..... if he does not have it maybe he should..... or manufacturers should be fair enough to contact the people who they based their products on and give them somewhat of a kick back but hey...... this is only the world not paradise right..... so i will keep on posting my ideas hoping some smarter people are out there with the contacts and influence to change things..

that is why i believe that most companies get their ideas from forums like this....

lets face it people what we all are really looking for is ppc2003 on the p800 - at least that is what i am looking for but that is and simpy will not be possible unless the 12mb or rom could be easily upgraded to fit ppc2003.

I spoke with DDH Software on the prospect of them porting their Handbase program to the Symbian platform:

"Thanks for your kind words in support of HanDBase. We appreciate you
contacting us about the Symbian platform."

"At this time I can tell you that we are seriously considering porting over
to this platform. With all the powerhouse hardware manufactures behind it,
the outlook appears promising."

This will seriously benefit most of us if they port this.
