yes, newbie question here.

my wifi works. my browser work. my email works. question is how do i get it to use wifi if its on, then use phone (GPRS/edge).

something to do with 'the internet' setting, which i've set both my browsers to. but where do i edit 'the internet' settings? and how do i set the email to do the same...try wifi first, then go to GPRS/edge?

im on a dash, with windows mobile 5.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Wifi is the first tier for data connections, meaning that as long as you have Wifi on, and there is either an open signal or a signal which you have the key for, it is the default connection. Just test your speeds at dslreports.com (use the low-fi page, 1mb transfer). If you hit marks around over 200kbps, then you are definitely using Wifi. The difference, performance wise, is not as noticeable as you might hope it to be for most smartphones. The browser and OS just can't seem to keep up with the Wifi data rates.

depending on your carrier settings....
however...if your really concerned whether wifi is accessed first just put your phone into air plane mode....

meaning....turn off cell radio and wifi will be the dominant connection...once your finished with wifi...turn on your phone again.

With a wifi signal, and wifi turned on, my Dash would still use the data connection. DUMB.

On the MDA, even if I'm using a data connection and then turn on wifi, it'll automatically use wifi.

This=reason MDA is better.

Cellphonejunky....POST ANOTHER MESSAGE!!! Your post count is BAAAAD.
