what is best video player for SmartPhone that can play smooth MP4, mpeg and avi files?

What converter is the best one?

Most people here use TCPMP for playback. And for converting Pocket DivX is popular. Both are free. Bear in mind that playback smoothness depends on how it was encoded. Stuff encoded with really high settings won't play back smoothly because of the slow speed of your device (a 200mhz phone doesn't compare with a desktop computer). But anything converted with Pocket DivX should play fine.

Also you may want to try search in the future. This is a rather common topic.

i agree but most files that can play fine on your computer would also work find on your device, but if you have long or large files they might lag a bit

Got my Vox last night and tested the video. Converted a cartoon episode with Pocket Divx with Pocket PC settings (320x240, high quality) and played with TCPMP in landscape mode. Everything worked flawlessly. Will try unconverted video once the battery is charged up again and report back...
