Problems with Dash and Text Messaging on WM6 using Cingular / ATT Network

I just upgraded my dash to Windows Mobile 6. I am using an unlocked phone on the cingular / att network. I was able to get the internet up and running right off the bat. However, I cannot SEND text messages. Also, my Text Message box shows 5 messages, and when I click on the text messaging box, NO MESSAGES EXIST?!?!?!?!? This is very strange. I have tried a full reset but an unable to view any text messages. Any messages i try to send sit in the out box. Has anyone figured this out?
