Blackjack - stuck battery cover?

I am trying to slide off the battery cover so I put on the extended battery but I can't get it off, it's stuck on it. Anyone else have that problem?
I don't want to force it as it is a brand new phone and I don't want to damage it.

Its on there pretty tightly. Easiest way to get it off is to push down on the ridges with your thumb while at the same time using your thumb nail to pry in between the cover and back of the phone.
