Could have sworn it was exactly the same as my 8525 except slightly different button placement and a tighter feel to the slide out keypad.

Are there any differences in specs?

I think the keyboard slides out the opposite side; aside from the things you mentioned and WM6 I think they're the same.

I am using a PPC 6800 on Sprint alongside my Curve. Kind of a review unit, so to speak, and I know a rep with an 8525 so I plan to go do some comparisons today or tomorrow on lunch.

This is my first WinMo phone. Got any tips? Suggestions? Questions?

I thought the 6800 was significantly thinner than the TYTN?

I held them side by side and it didn't appear to be much smaller.

It's not significantly thinner than the 8525 but it is noticeably thinner. The 6800 is just overall more streamlined and slightly less bulky than the 8525. I went to an indirect store near my office where I know the reps fairly well at lunch and did a couple size comparisons. MVT's observations about the sliding keyboard feel (which also slides out a different direction than the 8525) and button placement match my own.

The 8525 loaded web pages a bit faster, too, comparing EVDO to HSDPA.

I think the 6800's screen looks a little nicer, but, that's just my opinion and it could be perception.

Otherwise, they are pretty similar from what I can tell.

According to phonescoop, the 6800 is 3 mm thinner than the 8525 and about four-tenths of an ounce lighter ...

Any chance the 6800's earpiece is louder?

isn't at&t supposed to release the kaser soon? (maybe thats the wrong name).
I know its the update for the 8525

How do you feel about it?
Is their a big difference in data speed since the 6800 has EVDO and the curve has EDGE?

I have never used WinMo on a day to day basis. When I've played with it, I've found it to be slow, clunky and counterintuitive. That's how I ended up with BB. So, I expected to loathe the Mogul, but I actually like it quite a bit. I don't intend to keep it but given the price I got it for and the fact I have a buyer to cover my usage costs it seemed like a win-win situation for this phone geek.
The size is wonderful for such a powerful device, especially compared to its predecessor, the 6700. It's only a few millimeters thicker closed than the Curve and isn't quite as wide as the Curve. It's quite comfortable to hold, which surprised me.
I haven't pushed it too much, but, I'll put a few more things on it today or tomorrow and see how does under a little more strain.
I should also mention it's actually a pretty good phone for a PPC.
So, far, if I were still a Sprint user I'd say this phone is a no brainer since there's no Curve or Pearl equivalent on Sprint and may not be for some time.
Oh, but the battery life with included battery, it's terrible. That's the price you pay for 3G data on a powerful device.

Oh, I forgot to mention, yes there is a noticeable difference in EVDO vs EDGE in terms of loading webpages, particularly graphic intensive ones, but EVDO still slows down in the same places like prepping a download or logging into something. A download of an app is quite zippy once it gets to the point it can download.
On the other hand, if you were to choose apples to apples between 3g and 3g, I'd pick at&t's HSDPA over EVDO any day based on my experience.
