Why doesn't AT&T support the new AIM for BB?

AIM for Blackberry is available, but when I try and download it says not supported by my carrier

Because offering services like this will hurt at&t's bottom line.
There was a good article a few days ago in the WSJ that was talking about how RIM has been trying to bundle all of these free apps/services into their Blackberry's, but, the carriers, (mainly at&t) keep stonewalling them.
