enV Orange/BitPim Problems...

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I had the enV but exchanged it for the enV Orange because I liked the color better. I know how to use BitPim to put on ringtones, pictures, videos, etc. and did so before. I went to transfer everything back onto the Orange one, but I keep getting an Exception error. I have the latest BitPim software, but I get the same error whenever I either try to add a file or whether I go to delete the ringtone.dat file. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to remedy this situation? Thanks in advance.

I dislike recommending a double post, but check the verizon- LG subforum, and maybe put a link to this post,

there is where you get a faster response

thats because the new env orange has the new software on it which blocks BitPim. there is a way around it i heard but its more complicated. its discussed on this forum. you just have to search

I just got the enV Orange and was able to use BitPim by getting first going into "enV Edit" within LG Downloader (you can find LS Downloader on mobile-files.com and you can find the DLL files for the VX9900 there also) and then using BitPim to transfer the files. It seems that once the phone is in edit mode, the blocking is unlocked.
I used Bluetooth the whole time and didn't have a cable so don't listen to those who say Bluetooth won't work.
This is the first time I've ever messed with this stuff and it turned out to be pretty easy once I found the files.

^^^ I think that right there might be your problem. You might have to use the latest TEST version of BitPim rather than the "official" version. Test version is labeled 1.0.1.#####. The normal version wouldn't work with my orange enV, but once I installed the test version it worked fine. Not sure where to get that that version offhand, but I know there's a link to it somewhere on this forum. It was a huge relief when the Test Bitpim worked, because for a minute I thought I was gonna have to mess with my phone's firmware and stuff.

Here's a link that downloads a version of BitPim that works. I'm guessing that latest version will always be the best choice.

Good luck!
