KX5 faceplate on a KX18 Amp'd Angel?

Anyone know how to do this? I have the T3 driver and can get the top two screws off but how do I access the bottom screws? Does the slider have to be removed? I can't get all of the tiny Phillips screws which hold that on to move. Or does the bottom of the Angel clip on? I see some tiny metal things in there. Will this work at all? Hope so cuz I scratched the screen pretty bad. Thanks.

Never mind. Figgered it out. You DO have to remove the slider. The trick is to get a NEW set of mini screwdrivers from the dollar store cuz those tiny Phillips screws are in TIGHT. Magnetize the Phillips and T3 drivers if they aren't already. Do the whole thing over a plastic bin so you don't lose anything. Just be careful not to break the ribbon cable. Be sure to move the speaker to the new faceplate.

The KX5 faceplate fits perfectly. The color is pearl white (silvery) but actually looks OK, a bit of a slight 2-tone effect. The buttons all work. They are bigger and rubbery and have better icons than the Amp'd. I like them fine. The screen looks good but I'm sure is not of the quality of the original, which may have had an anti-scratch coating on it. That's what I apparantley screwed up when I tried to polish a small scratch. I put some Armor-all on this one and am going to keep it in a pouch.

The faceplates come with an extended battery cover and you can get them in many gaudy colors.

This is kinda major surgery and takes about a half hour.
