can't find if this has been covered before. is there any way to be playing music in the windows media player on the phone and then hit the power button to turn the screen off while in the pocket so as to not hit any buttons?

i know you can do the lock function but thats a pain i'd rather just pop that little power button then back on if i need to change songs while leaving it in my pocket.

would think that there's a hack for it and its possible since you can hit power button while in a call and maintain the call

thanks for the help guys

you can accomplish the same thing by setting your backlight setting to turn off your screen, and then use the 'lock device' option.

I really wish there was a physical hold button on the phone...but oh well

well it's a pocket PC, you can remap some of the key functions, but there just isn't enough actual buttons as it is a 'soft' phone. I'm impressed actually at how well it works.

well thanks for the suggestion, but i dont want to have to change settings and hit lock / unlock each time i put it in my pocket. the idea is i want to be able to put my hand in my pocket while on the go, hit power, then skip a track, hit power again to lock it back up to prevent accidental skipping/pausing etc

i find it hard to understand that the phone function can still emit sound/hold a call yet the media player can't? that's why i feel like there's a fix out there just searchin for it

I think you will find many ppc aps are not designed to be used with your fingers, conversely you may find alturnative aps that do offer better finger control. Another thought is maybe a stereo BT headset would help as some BT headsets allow you to reply, skip tracks ect.
