Black screen after skin install/skin delete on RAZR V3c

Hi all, I'm a noob here as well as being new to learning the software and modding aspects of the V3c. I started off with light "mods" such as using Motorola Phone Tools to add wallpapers, ringtones and short video clips that I'd created. This week, I dove head-first into adding a couple skins I'd downloaded to see how they work and try to get a feel for the directory structure of the skins' elements (wallpapers, sounds, icons, bootscreens).

In the process of trying a couple of skins that tuned out to be less appealing as I'd hoped, I used p2k Commander to remove them, and then I thought I would just back up my contacts, rings & wallpapers with MPT and finally use the Master Reset/Master Clear to revert the phone back to a state before I began adding skins. Needless to say for anyone who has tried this, the backup went fine, but my phone soon reverted to the infamous black screen with only the signal strength and battery meter icons visible.

I knew the phone wasnt bricked completely, because my EasyEdge apps & games still worked and I could get a few of the User Interface icons to appear (although they wouldnt go away unless I closed the phone).

I searched various threads and forums for HOURS piecing together information on how to rectify my phone, and finally came across a very helpful thread on ModMyMoto.
