tmobile dash - sound doesn't work properly!

My tmobile Dash has a weird sound problem. Every sound is disabled, except sounds for my ringer, text messages, etc. I can play items in WMP, but without sound. If I try and listen to another ringtone, it won't play (although my phone rings!). If I change ringtones, the sound will play when someone calls, but not when I am trying to listen to the sound before changing it. There is no sound when I turn the phone on or off.
Tmobile doesn't have any idea what could have caused this. I have reset all of the profiles to default. I've turned the volume touch strip all the way up. I've enabled all the sounds I can think of.
I know I am missing something completely obvious. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Bump.
Anyone out there have any idea about this? I've seen lots of lurking...
If anyone has ANY suggestions, please let me know. I am trying to avoid doing a hard reset.
