hi all can somebody tell me moto razr allows to run third party (like any some brew application )application as a background applications.

Like a Blackberry where you hide apps? No, definitely not, Razr's can't do that. The only app that runs in the background is Celltop, it is an Alltel exclusive that runs all the time and has "cells" that tell you different things like weather, sports scores, etc. That, however, is an Alltel exclusive like I said, and it only comes preloaded on some Alltel phones.

Hm, can you load brew apps onto an Alltel V3m with it? It just irks me that all the games and apps I find are java and of course Alltel doesn't USE java...

Load brew apps with what? Celltop? No, celltop is a preloaded brew application and that's all. There are no places to download brew apps like you can for java. The only way to get brew apps are to download them through Axcess Apps. The reason that you only find java games and apps is because brew apps need to be digitally signed by the provider (Alltel) in order to work, kind of like a DRM on the apps, whereas java apps do not need verification like this.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I can't think of a way around it, so I guess I'll just have to be happy with d/l my own ringtones and pics. BTW, is there a way I can load a new skin or is that something Alltel has excluded?

You sure can load skins! I had about 10 loaded on my V3c and will be putting some on my new Slvr when I get the chance. This link should tell you all you need to know. PM me if you need help with software, etc. Linky

I know this is going to sound stupid, but I have a V3m, will the skinning thing work with the tut for the V3c?

Yes it will; they have very similar file systems. Check your PM.
