ok i clearly have 3G coverage where i live, BUT in reality its more of a fringe area. i say this because its difficult to maintain a 3G signal in my house or in my backyard (1 level small home, no trees nearby). <see image>

is more 3G coverage needed nearby to increase the level of building/home penetration?? do i need to complain to AT&T??

Chances are 3G coverage in your area is on the 1900 band which usually yeilds weak indoor coverage.

Reguardless, that map depects OUTDOOR STREET LEVEL coverage.

I get barely any coverage inside my house. I only get it when I lock my phone to UMTS, it'll never switch over automatically.
But I step outside I get 2 bars. I go just down the block and I get a solid 100% signal.
And I'm in the middle of a rather dense suburban area of San Jose, CA.

my neighborhood is a very dense one too....sounds like 850mhz 3G is our only hope!
