MyComputer detects my Sanyo MVP but the programs can't read the Phone...

The title pretty much says it all. I have all the ports set to COM 1 which the programs use and the baud rate is set to 115200 as they are supposed to be. I do not have a problem using those same programs with other Sanyo phones such as 4900, 4920, 200, 2300, 8100, 8200 or 8300. Is there a reason the Sanyo MPV phone can not be read by the the same programs that read the other phones? Am I doing something wrong? Is there something I could do different?
