I just purchased a Siemens S46 over Ebay. I just tried to power the phone, and it didn't turn on. I also just tried to charge the phone and that didn't work. Does the SIM need to be in to do anything?

The sim doesn't need to be in to charge it or to turn it on. Are you holding in the red end button long enough to turn it on?

Actually, for some strange reason, if the battery is drained, you have to leave it plugged in for 5-10 minutes in order to see the battery charge bar - strange - but that is what the manual states. You would think that it would appear once you had power to the phone.

Eaton I have seen that with various Siemens mobiles... if the battery is drained it takes a few min to see the charging bar. When I first got my s40 I had the same thought I was like WTF???
Anyways... enjoy the new fone!

Thanks...I am psyched. Now I need AT&T to migrate my plan to GSM (and allow me to keep my M2M and N&W). If not, I will be stuck on TDMA for a long time since those expire in 2010.
