Hey Everyone,

I asked this over in the WM forum, but I figured I would ask here also since there are more BB users over here.

My wife currently has a BB 8700c on Cingular, hooked to her BES server. They also have an exchange server set up with Push email. In the past I was able to pull her sim out of the BB and drop it in a WM device and everything worked.

however, tonight I tried to move her over to my Blackjack and she is unable to connect to the network, do you think that becuase she is on a BB plan, that she is unable to connect to the net on a WM device? Or do I have some network setting incorrect... (using the default wap.cingular settings)

The error I get is "The Remote party has ended this connection"

I might have answered my own question. I put my sim in and with the exact same settings everything works fine. I think it is the way her line is provisioned.

A BB dataplan is set up to work on a BB, not anything else. You might have some Internet access, but not much more. For the BJ/WM device to work properly, you need to have a mediamax type plan - smartphone connect or pdaconnect. BES is set up to conncect to the BB and identifies it using the BB PIN. Since the BJ doesn't have a PIN, it won't work on BES.

I don't think BB email will work and I don't think there is a BB Connect application for smartphones released yet.
