Ok, so I am about to switch over to at&t and I am looking for my perfect phone. I want something that can replace my 4 gig iPod mini, so it would need a good and simple music player and would also have to be Mac friendly. (It doesn't necessarily need to hold 4 gigs of music though)
Have been eyeing the Sony Ericssons for a long time, so I am looking at the W810i. The other phone on my list is the A717 or the A727 by Samsung . I am not too picky about what type of phone it is as long as it has a good built quality.
So please enlighten me with more phones I may like or help me weigh my options. Are these phones crippled in any way? I don't know what to expect from at&t as a customer coming from Verizon.
Thanks!

I can't speak for the Samsung but the w810i is a great phone. It is solidly built, has a great camera (if you were looking for that type of thing), great reception, and music sounds great. I also have an iPod, which I wasn't looking into replacing, but it easily could.

Thanks. That's what I've been hearing. I would just get it right now, but the phone seems like old technology and old news. Right now at&t is giving $100 for people to sign up for a 2 year contract with that phone. They really want to get rid of them I guess.
But I was wondering, what are the downsides of getting a branded W810?
