outline font property for plugin text on wm5 homescreen

if any of you savvy folks with a blackjack can help me out, load one of the blackjack popup or simple homescreens.

you see the outlined date, time, and carrier plugin fonts? the xml shows that the plugins have a special text font attribute outline=true.

I tried to get this outline on my message plugin (email, sms, vmail counters) using the same text attribute, but it doesnt seem to work.

anyone that is good with wm5 homescreen xml want to give it a shot and see if you can get it to work for other std MS plugins? perhaps it needs to be non-selectable like the carrier/date/time plugins?

I'll give it a shot and see what I come up with. I made my own homescreen using code snippets of others on line. That text is cool and would definitely open up some doors.

I tried this in my Profile plugin's selected option and it didn't work.

Without getting to involved with it... have you tried copying the code verbatim? Perhaps there is code toward the top of the xml file that defines "outline". Check that out. Also maybe font size has something to do with it.

I'm performing a reset to see if any changes require a restart (some do). Which doesn't work (verified).

Looking at BlackjackType4.home.xml

I see that it only uses the outline=true in the following plugin:

Update: The date/carrier/time plugin I'm using in my own homescreen is a different plugin that they are using. That is prolly the key.

Thats what it is.

Change the plugin to the one listed above. Then put the outline=true for anything under that plugin (clock, carrier). I did this for clock and now my clock is outlined...

The only bad thing is that the Date is aligned right and my clock is aligned left.
After changing this plugin code, I now get "ATT" under my Date text...

So thats the ticket. But put that code in and see how it turns up. You should be able to hide the carrier text... but this is as far as I want to go because I'm having to do all the hacks on my cell because I'm not at home.

mix facade, blackjack simple (several portions disabled, just the media player portion is active), some random bits i found on other forums, etc...
