any way to get rid of it? as i'm entering contact info, as i go towards the email section, it has to pass over the custom ringtone part- for whatever reason, it'll stay on this part for a good 30 seconds before moving on....bsaiclaly it freezes for a few.

any way to get rid of the option or at least make it not freeze?

It doesn't do that on mine. Then again I'm running wm6

What is happening is that the phone is searching the main \windowz directory each time and this takes some time. That is the default storage directory for the ringtones. To solve this you need to edit the registry file and made a new directory path for your ringtones. That will solve the problem.
