Any new basic-midrange Nokia phones to be released soon on ATT?

I just got the 6126, it's a very nice phone, but battery life isn't all that great. I'm considering returning it only if there are any other decent Nokia phones about to be release for ATT. I'm looking for something similar in feature set to the 6126 but just better battery life. Here are some things I'm looking for or can do without in a phone compared to the 6126:

- I can forgo the 16M color screen and settle for 256k
- mp3 player is not a requirement
- Expandable memory is not a requirement as long as it has at least 10MB internal
- candybar is ok, doesn't have to be flip
- camera doesn't have to be 1.3mp, VGA is ok
- and of course GOOD BATTERY LIFE!

Anyone hear of any Nokia phones like this coming out soon for ATT? I need to know soon because my 30 day return period is about to end and I don't want to use my backup 8890 for too long since it doesn't have 850MHz. If there are no new Nokia phones on the horizon, then I'll just settle with the 6126.

If you like nokia phones, do yourself a favor and get an unbranded one. I don't see much change coming for nokia products with ATT.

I was just at one of my local AT&T stores, and there was a Bar style Nokia, but it was very basic, I'm not sure if there was a camera on it, but it was free. Sad to hear you didn't like your 6126... especially since I just bought one...

It was probably the 6030 you saw, that phone is a bit too basic for me. As for the 6126, it's not a bad phone at all, I'm just a bit more used to longer battery life, so charging more frequently is something I guess I'll have to get used to. Like I said, it's a very good mid-range phone otherwise.

AT&T now offers the Nokia 2610 as their entry-level phone. The 6030 was the prior one - I got a 6030 off of eBay and it does the job. However, the screen is pretty small (128x128) and I want to upgrade to the 6300 to get some more features and a bigger screen (240x320)

I spoke to one of the Nokia flagship stores this week about the 6300 - as to whether they thought AT&T would begin offering it. The sales rep I spoke to wasn't sure, but seemed to think that since AT&T picked up their 6385 (I think that was the model he mentioned - it's a flip phone) - that AT&T probably would not offer the 6300. He also said that they were being trained on the 6300 and expect it in the Nokai store in about 7 to 10 days (or by roughly July 15)

All that being said - you might want to look at the 6300 - it would seem to have what you want - but make sure you buy the 850/1800/1900 model (6300b) - not the Euro model that is in 900/1800/1900. You can find them (850) unbranded on Amazon for about $265 (Again, read carefully - the 900 is also offered.) According to what I've read - the Americas (850) model comes up with RM 222 as the firmware when the standard *#0000# is entered, the Euro says RM 217

There is discussion in the forums about the battery life on the 6300 - but it seems to go both ways - some people complain, others say the battery life is the same as any other Nokia. Perhaps some users don't fully charge the battery, or deep-cycle it three times when new in order to get the full capacity.

At any rate - I always have three batteries for my cell phones, and the BL-4C for the 6300 can be had for about $4 each (OEM) - so I don't see it as much of an issue, if at all.
