Well, I have a Cingular BlackJack, and the Wm6 Beta, and I got tired of the slew of crap in there I never used that it insisted I couldn't delete....so I did it the hard way

If you regedit the order, it just outs the crap at the bottom...an that wasn't good enough for me.

So, in Windows Vista [I'm not sure this works in XP or not], open the phone in windows explorer [it'll show as a portable device], and navigate to:

Code:
/windows/start menu

You will have to have your view settings to allow you to see hidden folders, and protected system files to get there

NBow, in there, you can delete anythign you don't want...pull stuff you sue often out of it's folder onto the main start menu, consolidate all the stuff you rarely use, but still don't wanna delete into one folder [mine's called "etc"...lol]...etc

Enjoy, and don't break anything

I'm still getting a message telling me I can't delete the files, just like I did on XP. Yes, I have app-unlocked my phone using the SurrealNetworks tweak. Any ideas?

I put all the crap in a folder then using file manager I select the properties of that folder and made it hidden now it doesn't show in my start menu at all

better still facade launcher can read thecontents like any other folder so I placed all my shortcuts for launcher in there too that really cleaned up my start menu and put my most used right there on my home screen

this also means you dont delete anything that you may sudenly need three or four months down the line.

you can also do it from the phone as well, once you have the "show hidden fodlers"" option turned on, then you sync your phone. your device will begin to show the hidden folders in the file explore

I did all from the phone...but to mave built in short cuts you will need resco explorer as the default one will not allow you to move or delete the lnk file that are placed in the start menu by defualt.
