I was talking to a local cellphone store (in Los Angeles) and they said the P800c (Hong Kong version) cannot be set up to surf the Ineternet in the U.S. Now I'm forced to get the P800 English version - kinda disappointed. Has anyone heard anything similar or know why?

that's because it comes pre loaded with software for the Asian region. The P800 is based on Symbian...so i'm sure someone in HK, has already connected with their "C" version on a NA site...after all the P800 is a "World Business Tool" with an "open".
I can't experiment as yet since i don't have muy GPRS setup yet.
It should work like any other computer (well within it's limit)...i.e, i can take my notebook to Asian and surf over there, in their language too and vice versa.
I'm sure the "salesperson", doesn't really know (was he trying to sell you his P800?)...heck look at the Nokia 3650, some of those guys have Asian versions and they surf over here.
I'll ask some people i deal and trust with info like that and post again later. It is a "World Device" after all
