Do you need to use Blackberry's data plan to access Opera?
Or if you buy a full data plan from Sprint with Umlimited web for about $15 dollars and put opera mini on it via computer, will it work?
Because if you buy the Q or any other smartphone, you can get full access to the web for about $15, now if you buy the Blackberry without the BB Data plan and just use Sprint Data plan, will it work?
I wont need BB's email database or whatever..

You need a BB dataplan for Internet and email on a BB. Standard dataplans do not work.

I have heard of Opera mini installed on a BB, but not sure how good it is. Also, be prepared for a potentially big usage bill.

The BB Curve can use a standard data plans, you don't require BIS to surf. It's the only BB that can use regular data, however.

Opera Mini works decently well on the Curve.

The Pearl works fine with the standard data plan. I had one for a few months, always surfed the internet and never had the BB data plan.
