Are there any blackberrys that can browse the internet using an open wifi network. If not what are some phones that are capable of this.

the 8100 (pearl), 8800 and 8300 (curve) are all rumored to have a wifi model on the horizon. None out yet.

damn i need a new phone and want one with wifi capability. No other phone makers have one that does? Treos. etc...

There are many wifi able smartphones, but IMO none are good enough to trade off the form factor, stability and features of the Blackberry. One that comes close is the Nokia E70-2 but there are trade-offs going that route.

Currently only 1 and its by DIRECT order from RIM.

7720 - its NOT a phone just WiFi for VoIP via PBX & BES email/mds web surfing.

BES already supports WLAN & VoIP and such with v4.0; so if this rumored 8120 is true ... then you can have your cake & eat it too.

The iphone has wifi.

And a hefty price tag, if you can find it, then activate it.

Well a good number of the HTC and other Windows Mobile phones have it as someone already said. Personally I'd hold out a few months if you can. More WiFi phones should be out.

Many of the nokia S60 phones have wifi also.

the Nokia N73 or N76 i forget which one has wifi with a decent pricetag.

We had our Tmo corporate rep in our offices today laying out next years' corporate rate plans. He told us that in Sep Tmo will release their first RIM product to support the new Tmo@Home service. I'm betting it will be a derivative of the 8800 or the Curve....the guy made it sound like it was going to be based off the Curve.
