Reason to get Touch over TyTN?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

currently the Touch is around $500 ($499 to be exact) and the TyTN is $418 from some online retailers.

is there a reason to go with

Slower cpu 200mhz vs 400mhz
no KB
no 3.5G
no video calling
fewer buttons
no jog wheel
no IrDA for remote control software

????????

the OS's is the same as HTC i believe has either already released wm6 for the tytn or will soon

the weight and larger dimensions of the tytn is the only real downside.

the tytn till fits comfortably on my pocket though.

Here are mine reasons-
- smaller
- no keyboard
- fewer buttons
- Touch FLO interface
- WM6

smaller = the reason I switched

Dumped my TyTN for Touch:

1) Form factor
2) Cool factor
3) Hated the TyTN keyboard and just didn't use that often so on-screen keyboard works fine

But they really are 2 different devices which appeal to 2 different user types.

i find the omap 200mhz faster than the samsung 400mhz overall

for individual task, the 400mhz is faster but multitasking the omap runs smoother.. especially when overclocked "safely" to 240mhz, minimum battery life lost but a lot better speeds

I'm looking into this as well. For some reason, it's like the prices of 8525's, XDA's, TyTN's went up.

There is about $150 price gap between the Touch and the X01HT. I'm looking to get either. The Touch is cheaper, smaller, sleeker. Yes Triband, but I heard it feels like a quad, and I get amazing 1900 in my area anyways. Or get the sort of bigger, bulkier X01HT. I don't do "heavy" texting, and qwerty wasn't always my thing.

So what's the deal lol

are you using OMAPClock? or another one? ive been able to get my HTC PRophet to 263mhz ok, do you think the touch can go up 1 more notch?

^ I heard 263 is the highest speed to go, if you don't want to run into problems on your phone.

Not trying to flame the HTC Touch but it really looks rushed in my opinion. Almost like they were trying to go head to head with the iPhone but cut a couple corners to get it released sooner.

If you're looking for a good HTC phone, I'd go with the TyTN or the Kaiser (being released sometime this year i believe)

As far as a direct compare between the Touch and TyTN, sure the TyTN is much bigger but it is still comfortable plus, for me, it has everything I was looking for.
