I've been lurking for a while but this is my first post. Still a newbie for the most part.

I just purchased an unlocked SE w810i from mobile city (the most I could get with my college student budget). Everything is perfect but I noticed that when I make calls, when no one is talking I can hear static. When they start talking again the static is gone. Tried this with my dad's OLD at&t sim too and same thing happens. Is this a real problem that would require looking into the warranty, or am I just overreacting.

Maybe it needs an update? I checked and it has a date of 2-15-2006 in the software info screen. Also, this is the US version of this phone.

It's actually not static anymore. Just a constant hum that intensifies when I speak. Already has the latest software too. I'm just going to send it in and see if they can repair it.
